Tim KANG

Hey guys! I'm Tim (he/him), a year 2 Computer Science student. I spent my first 10 years in Korea before moving to Nanjing, China. Being fluent in three languages—Korean, Chinese, and English—has been a natural result of my upbringing. Attending an international school has drastically shaped who I am as a person. Growing up in such a diverse environment has made me more culturally knowledgeable and open-minded, and I have developed a deep passion for learning about different cultures. During my spare time, I love exploring the outdoors through activities like hiking and camping. Additionally, I am passionate about sports, particularly basketball and badminton. I try to watch and play them whenever I can!

As a Spark Global Leader, I am incredibly excited to collaborate with a team of talented and passionate individuals, as it provides an excellent opportunity to create lasting memories and develop my leadership skills. I am enthusiastic about learning and evolving alongside my team. Having experienced the challenges of adjusting to university life and an international environment, I understand the importance of relying on others for support. Therefore, I hope to contribute by organizing memorable events for students, and foster a sense of belonging and inclusion within the HKUST community.
