Anzila JESSANI
Hello, I’m Anzila! You pronounce my name like Godzilla but with “un” in the front (people never forget it after that).
I’m from Karachi, Pakistan and currently in Year 2 of the Dual Degree Program in Technology & Management, with Integrative Systems and Design as my science major. Growing up back home, I saw a lot of extreme views — social, political, and religious — which taught me to step into other people’s shoes and connect with anyone. However, when I moved to Hong Kong, the way people connected felt really different from what I was used to. At first it was tough, but it pushed me to reach out more, and I’ve grown a lot because of it. Now I want to keep learning about people and their cultures, which is why I joined Spark Global.
I’ve always been called a jack of all trades — I’ve tried oil painting, DIY crafts, piano, guitar, drums, cooking, martial arts, debating, and philosophy. This semester though, I finally committed to one thing: Judo. When I’m not picking up new hobbies or working on projects, I like slowing down for deep chats, hearing people’s stories, or just watching romcoms and sci-fi.
The point of laying this out is simple: if you ever feel like having a chat, you can always come to me. Whether it’s a shared hobby, something new you want me to try, or just a heart-to-heart about life, I’m always down :)
