Office of Global Learning hosts a range of activities for the exchange students. They range from the welcome events happening in HKUST to touring in Hong Kong, from traditional Chinese sports and festive food tasting to experiencing the vibrant life of this amazing city.

ORIENTATION ACTIVITIES

To make your exchange life in HKUST fruitful, a series of orientation activities are organized for you. Have a good start of your fun exchange!

Below are the sessions which you are expected to attend to get essential information about your living at HKUST and in Hong Kong. Most importantly, you should get registered before the start of the term and come to the Welcome Reception to make new friends.

We have prepared some virtual tours for you to enrich your exchange life here in HKUST. Activities are sponsored by HKUST partially and you could engage in activities with a discounted price.

Virtual Tour: Sham Shui Po – A Story of Grassroots Hong Kong

The tour takes place in a down-to-earth neighbourhood in Hong Kong - Sham Shui Po, where working-class grit and ingenuity inspire a new generation of artists and designers. Our tour guide will travel to a decades-old public housing estate and quirky flea markets with the audience.

Virtual Tour: Old Town Central

The tour is an insider's guide to Hong Kong's fascinating mishmash of old and new. Our tour guide will bring the audiences to Hong Kong’s oldest open-air bazaar and interview the elderly stallholders, in which participants are encouraged to switch on their cameras and join the chit-chats via Zoom meeting.

Enrollment

Students may enroll to activities through MyStudyAbroad System.

Enrollment deadline: 27 February 2022 (Sunday)

There are limited quotas for each activity. Seats will be allocated randomly if the enrollment exceeds the quota of the activity. Confirmation email will be sent to you regarding the activities that you have successfully enrolled after the enrollment period.

Seats will be secured if you pay for the activities on MyStudyAbroad System. Payment is non-refundable. We reserves the right to cancel an activity with refund due to insufficient enrollment.
