Hi! I’m Jihyun, a second-year bioengineering with AI student from Korea, but have been living in Hong Kong since 5. I love meeting new people from around the world, and am always down to go have good food in Hong Kong. Despite living here for so long, speaking Cantonese has always been a struggle for me, especially in my first year here, as it was difficult for me to fit into different friend groups. I was too Korean to fit into the local friend group, yet too international to fit into the Korean friend group, leaving me no choice but to struggle with my identity. As a Spark Global Leader, I hope to be able to bridge the gap between both local and non-local friend groups and make a space for everyone to feel like they can fit in!

During my free time, I love listening to crime podcasts and reading crime-related books. I love cafe hopping and shopping (it helps burn the calories from all the pastries I eat). I try to go to the gym, but I always end up working out from home. I love playing tennis, and have been playing it for some time, so if you’re down to playing tennis and having a fun shopping day, always hit me up:)))
