Sophie SLUIJS

Hello! I am Sophie, a third-year biomedical student doing my minor in HKUST at the school of Life Sciences as an international exchange student from the Netherlands. That means I am currently on a cultural adventure, and although I am a very calm person, my goal as a Spark Global Leader is to spread my passion to try new things with much enthusiasm to other students, local or not!

In my free time I like to do hobbies, such as playing games, club activities and digital art. I might look racially ambiguous, as every person has a different answer for which country I could be from. In truth, I am mixed, for I am half Dutch and half Aruban. As a result of that, I have much experience in interacting with different cultures and not really fitting in with any particular one, which I would like to use to make new students feel more at home in HKUST.
