Gary HE

Hey everyone! I’m Gary and this is my second year “coloring books” at HKUST. I come from Trinidad and Tobago, more specifically, Tobago. Now, to answer my two most frequently asked questions over the past year: I haven’t seen a pirate before, and I am also not a pirate. (Or am I? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) Anyway, I enjoy volleyball, badminton, cooking and I really love languages. I speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin and a little bit of Spanish.

Having grown up on an island that’s all about community and hospitality, I believe that I can help foster a welcoming, comfortable and engaging community for students of all backgrounds.

The world always came to me in the form of tourists, so by being a Spark Global leader I get to engage with the world on my own terms. After participating in several Spark Global hosted events last year, I have met many people and made lasting memories. I strongly encourage you to join us and do the same!
